I want our immigration system to work better for immigrants and their families, for our communities, and to protect our homeland and keep us safe. I believe in a step-by-step approach that focuses on a long-term solution. Learn more

Once our borders are secure, and we are enforcing our current immigration laws, we can reform and improve our immigration system. Initial steps should include improved visa tracking and employment verification to improve our national security. Legislation

I was also a member of the Special Conference Committee of select members of Congress who finalized a comprehensive bill to address substance abuse, specifically focused on heroin and opioids, that was signed into law in 2016. Funding to support these efforts was also signed into law, and Indiana received $10.9 million in 2017 to support local efforts to combat heroin and opioid abuse. Learn more
