Get StartedThis year’s budget completely fails to seriously address the rise in crime that has made our neighborhoods and communities unsafe. Although the Democrats did include modest proposals to increase penalties for assaulting retail workers and expanded the list of offenses that can be charged as hate crimes, they made no attempt to repeal the no cash bail legislation or to enact additional protections for our police. In fact, they flat-out rejected an amendment to reinstate the death penalty for cop killers! The lawlessness continues and New York taxpayers suffer the consequences. Learn more
The process of reaching a cleaner energy future must be done in a manner that respects the rights and concerns of local communities and local governments. You may have heard of the offshore wind farm projects that the State has been promoting? One of them required the alienation of parkland in the City of Long Beach to bury transmission lines underground. Residents fought back and the plan has now been canceled but I can promise you that if the Democrats continue to control the State Legislature, that project and others will be forced upon communities in Nassau County at a later date. Despite the high cost of living - and the reality that many of your hard-earned tax dollars will go to fund re-settlement of illegal immigrants rather than to you, the tax-paying citizen, or our schools and communities - the Democrats also decided to enact the “Good Cause Eviction” bill. This bill will essentially collapse the rental markets by making it even more difficult for a landlord to evict a tenant. Under current New York laws, landlords can no longer evict or fail to renew a lease for any tenant except under very specific circumstances. It is an extremely long and arduous process to evict tenants who stop paying rent. But now this bill will make it even harder. It doesn’t matter if landlords/property-owners can no longer pay their bills. It’s all about the tenant - regardless of whether or not they perform the simple act of paying rent. Learn more
The Democrats made sure to include plenty of money in this year’s budget to support the illegal immigrants pouring into our country. In fact, the budget included $2.4 billion in NEW funding for illegal immigrants. That’s in addition to the millions that New York State has already spent assisting illegal immigrants - including $1.9 billion in 2023 alone. What is that money being spent on? For starters: food, shelter, free healthcare and taxpayer-funded debit cards. In 2024, $162 million has been allocated for National Guard deployment to assist with this influx - plus an additional $262 million in 2025. Again, that’s not tax revenue spent on taxpaying citizens of New York - but for illegal migrants who are coming here in droves. Since April of 2022, New York City has welcomed more than 180,000 migrants. Legal New York State residents, on the other hand, are leaving the state in droves because they can no longer afford to live here. Learn more
