All of these are preventable and we need to ensure that the regulation and permitting of wells includes protections for the environment and enforcement. Learn more
The emerging industry and energy resources of solar and wind are abundant in New Mexico, setting us up to become a national leader in these areas. While the fossil fuels of the Permian and San Juan basins helped build New Mexico, we must transition away from this industry in a manner that is equitable and that funds state government and communities around the state. As an educator, I see first hand the devastating effects child abuse has on the children in our schools, and how it hinders our economic prosperity into the future. We have the ability to not just deal with the abuse that has occurred, but also to get to the root problems of society that allow the abuse to happen. I will continue to work to raise awareness of this issue, support programs such as Resilience Leaders here in Las Cruces, and support the healthy communities initiatives that prevent the abuse in the first place.
