This transformation will (2) result in the creation of millions of jobs in the building and operations of renewable energy. As well as (3) ensuring justice for our most vulnerable communities such as Native Americans, the elderly, children, people with disabilities, and communities of color, who are often negatively affected by pollutants of the current energy system. The vast majority of Americans agree with common sense background checks according to a recent poll. This is not a partisan issue. Someone who cannot pass a background check or has a history of violence should not own a gun. Period. We must close all loopholes and implement common sense. Learn more
No one should die because they cannot see a doctor or be forced to ration their medicine because of financial difficulties. Families should not be subjected to unaffordable expenses stemming from unforeseeable emergencies or ailments. Nor should one be declaring bankruptcy because of a medically related debt or debts. I also support regulating pharmaceuticals in a manner similar to which we regulate utilities – including capping drug prices. The pharmaceutical industry is already subsidized by taxpayers, effectively paying for the industry’s profits with nothing in return. Like utilities, pharmaceuticals provide an essential good – in this case, medicine. People should not ration or avoid medication because they cannot afford exorbitant pricing. Learn more
